It’s begging week at NPR, and I have a suggestion. If they’re going to claim, as they have several times this morning, that they rely on their listeners for all of their funding, they might want to remove this smoking gun from their own site.

I thought the fund raisers were for the local station’s costs in bringing you the NPR, PRI, etc. programming, labor costs, operating costs, local programs, etc. In Philadelphia, the leading NPR affiliate is currently prepping its audience months in advance for a special fund-raiser, to be devoted exclusively to getting a new transmitting tower.
And so they are. But when begging, the NPR talking heads obfuscate the fact that they are still federally subsidized, and at a healthy clip.
Who funds the federal government you idiots?
That was sort of the point, hombre.
